Offer Creek Trail Ride

Yesterday I went on the most beautiful trail ride. Went to offercreek with Nan and rode for about 3 hours. We were at around 9000 ft altitude. The sun was cool and the breeze was slight. We needed light gloves to ride comfortabley and light sweatshirts. The road is a regular car size dirt road that winds up through the pines and aspens. In the fall it must be gorgeous.

The only bad thing is the lack of parking. Nan pulled off the road and then had to back down  and turn at a y in the road, to get turned around. My trailer could of made a u turn easier than her bumper pull but I still pretty nervous about turning and backing...need to practice.

Christmas Wish List

I was asked by my family to make them a Christmas wish list. Do you have any suggestions for good art books I can put on my Amazon List?

Writer's Block: I'm The Boss

If you had the resources to start your own business, what would it be?
If I could start my own business I would teach children to properly handle horses. I don't mean just riding them. I mean communicating with them in the horses language. I would teach children how to read horses; How to teach a horse to use the thinking side of it's brain instead of the fear side. I would teach the steps to a relationship with a horse where the horse looks to the child for it's guidance, and isn't just living on fear.

Sad

Today my son, Tim, is going to the Persian Gulf on the USS Nimitz. He doesn't want to sit in the ocean for months. They were originally going to Australia and Japan. He's proud to be in the Navy and so am I, but I'd rather see him having fun on an Australian beach. At least I can thank God that he's not in the Army or the Marines.

Hospital Update

Thursday's steps: 7638

Not the 10,000 I want to get to but a good start. I walked for 44 minutes so that was good too.

After spending Tuesday night and Wednesday in the hospital with a possible heart attack, I woke up to realizing i need to take care of my body and not just my spirit. It's the only one I have. At least they can't find anything wrong with my heart. I have a stress test next month.

First Concertina

This is my first attempt at a concertina book and my second fabric book overall. I really like making these. I've always been into fabric and I like using everyday "sewing stuff" to embellish my books. The hardest part of this one was getting the back and the front to line up so I could sew them together on the fold lines. I measured so carefully, but the sides still were off by a little bit.
